Christine was inspired to create the Friends' Faces series so that she might explore the subtle qualities of self-awareness and particular expressions of love and friendship. Though faces of friends and family inform Christine's sculptures, generally no one person has been reproduced exactly in clay. Instead, many faces influence her work. Each face in the Friends' Faces series is original and unique. Faces are either mounted on handmade plaques or in frames and are accented by complimentary fabric and paper. All pieces are prepared for wall hanging.
Friends' Faces Series No. 146
- This piece from the Friends' Faces series contains a face with a clay "fabric" headdress in chun plum red and turquoise. It is mounted to a handmade, maple plaque in a dark brown finish. The headdress is accented with genuine gold leaf details. The face was cast from a mold made from an original design by the artist. The plaque is equipped with a sawtooth hanger for easy display. This piece is available for purchase. Please contact the artist for the price.
